This is an unprecedented time in our history and with the evolving situation, OStudioworks first priority is the safety and wellbeing of everyone. In an effort to protect us all, workshops will be postponed through the month of April or until the Stay at Home is lifted and it is safe to resume regular business activity.
I’m grateful to own a small artist business and passionate about teaching metalsmithing, making and selling art but this is a scary time for all of us. The impact of COVID-19 has been devastating on small businesses where every sale counts and I am asking for your support to help keep the Metalsmithing fires going during this uncertain time. During the upcoming weeks, I’ll be working behind the scenes updating the website to expand/develop on Shop Products, New Workshops, Videos/Downloads, Student Tool Kits and more to offer you with added discounts to accommodate the current situation and for when we return. I absolutely love being able to share my skill set through art making, teaching, encourage creativity and am determined to continue to do so through this challenging time.
As an independent artist business owner there’s still bills to be paid along with the above mentioned and more than ever OStudioworks needs financial support to be able to keep the doors open. If you are able please consider making a donation to support the arts and assist in keeping the Metalsmithing fires going. Every little bit helps, contributions are gratefully accepted here for OStudioworks.
OStudioworks is a unique destination for art workshops taught by Nicole Ohayon and both established and emerging artists as guest instructors who have achieved significant recognition in their fields.
Whether discovering a brand new passion, refining a talent or expanding your creative repertoire, this cozy studio is a place that fosters creativity, encourages self-expression and is sensitive to the needs of the individual and to the dynamics of a group. It is a place to collaborate, comfortably stretch the boundaries of your imagination and create magnificent works! Our workshops range from silversmithing, fold forming, jewelry making, metal etching, diy wedding bands, cold connections, hydraulic press forming, metal embossing and many other art forms.
At the core of work & life is experimentation… experimentation w/ matter & spirit, w/ material & self…where the alchemist would take matter; the alchemist must also go, from prima materia to philosopher’s stone, from lead to gold, from here to wisdom…fire, water, air, acid; all the elements transform…then; imprint the self; w/ markers, nail polish, w/ resistance…allow to dissolve, allow chance, allow risk…then; at the right time, the right temperature, that perfect point of transformation…all processes are unique…each a personal & archetypal experience…each piece is unique, capturing the growth of self experimentation.
